What is Ayurveda?
Ayurvedic medicine (“Ayurveda” for short) is one of the world’s oldest holistic (“whole-body”) healing systems. It was developed more than 6,000 years ago in India.
It’s based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. Its main goal is to promote good health, not fight disease. But treatments may be geared toward specific health problems.
We are the only therapists providing these Authentic Ayurveda treatments in a relaxing calming fragranced ambience in Cambridge. Experience this to believe it. Away from the commercial sides of salons, we make this experience unique and mesmerising for each individual.
A Signature treatment of Ayurveda
From the rich and ancient language of sanskrit Shirodhara means; Shiro – head, and Dhara – continuous flow.
Practised for over 5000 years, Shirodhara massage originates from India and is based on the ancient principles of Ayurvedic medicines. Ayurveda aims to harmonize the total body, mind and soul. Ayurveda may be ancient but its appeal is evergreen.
Shirodhara treatment accomplishes an instant mental calm and body rejuvenation, through a warm, continuous flow of oils poured onto the central chakra point of the forehead, specifically for the ‘ajna marma’ or the ‘third eye’ after a relaxing and soothing massage.
